The Arts Investment Forum functions as an independent knowledge-resource and global meeting space for donors and cultural stakeholders committed to investing human, material and financial resources in arts and culture to drive development.

Gaining a deeper understanding about the impact of arts and cultural investments on human and socio-economic development also includes connecting donors and arts supporters as well as advocates, volunteers, artists and cultural professionals. This requires a meeting space for exchanging best practices, sharing information and holding discussions as well as a specialised and easily accessible knowledge resource that offers up-to-date information on the latest trends, developments and challenges as a sound basis for interventions.

AIF fills this gap and complements the wide array of existing networks and knowledge resources in the arts, culture and development sectors by connecting donors as well as related stakeholders and facilitating informed, strategic actions that maximize the potential of arts and culture to drive and enable development.

What do we mean by "investment"?

We understand "investment" not solely in a financial sense but, rather, as defined here (dictionary.com):

"...the investing of money or capital in order to gain profitable returns, as interest, income, or appreciation in value"

and

"...a devoting, using, or giving of time, talent, emotional enegery, etc., as for a purpose or to achieve something"
