Richard Morgan is currently the Senior Advisor to the Executive Director of UNICEF on the Post-2015 Development Agenda. He is a member of the UN Secretary-General’s Task Team on the Post-2015 Agenda, and has chaired various UN inter-agency groups on the MDGs and Human Rights. Richard previously worked as UNICEF’s Director of Policy and in other senior programme roles at UNICEF headquarters. A graduate of the Universities of Oxford and East Anglia, Richard worked during the 1970s-1990s for UNICEF in Africa and for the Government of Botswana in a wide range of areas, including rural development, food security and nutrition, macro-economic policies for children and humanitarian response. He has a particular interest in how rights-based, normative approaches can be effectively applied to international development, including to address extreme poverty and inequalities.
