Noha El-Mikawy is currently the regional representative of the Ford Foundation in the Middle East and North Africa. She has 20 years of experience in research and development. She was UNDP’s regional Governance team leader for the Arab States region. Before that, she was UNDP's governance and poverty advisor at the Oslo Governance Centre in Norway. Noha has a Ph.D. in political science from the University of California Los Angeles. Noha published 3 books and several articles on the political economy of reform in the Arab region, among them Building Consensus in Egypt’ Transition (AUC Press), Institutional Reform and Economic Development in Egypt (AUC Press) and Governance of Economic Reform in Selected Arab Countries http://www.erf.org.eg/cms.php?id=publication_details&publication_id=472 . She taught politics and development at the American University in Cairo, Free University Berlin, University of Erlangen, and the University of Bonn. She has been guest lecturer with the University of Oslo (Norway), the University of Bochum and the German Development Institute (Germany). She is a research fellow of Yale University, the Fulbright Foundation and the Economic Research Forum for the Arab Countries.
